He also possess a thorough knowledge of current marine legislation encompassing Health, Safety and Environmental issues, Total Quality Management and relevant ISO standards and beyond . He is currently an Independent Marine Consultant .

Captain Dixon started his career with Western Offshore and Drilling Company (WODECO) as a Senior Officer responsible for cargo integrity, safety and maintenance . Then he was promoted as Master Mariner , responsible for various tankers and offshore vessels . He also worked for Robin Law as Project Operations Manager , wherein he was in charge of marine operations for the Tanker and Offshore Department; supervised projects, vessel, personnel including Captains and Port Engineers ; carried out full contract planning; coordinated overall activities of vessels and operations throughout the area; ensured compliance with company local and international rules and regulations . Then he was the Terminal Manager of Quant Oil for different Oil/Gas Marine Terminals wherein he was involved in implementing nautical, technical, operational, management and shipping activities . He also managed the operations on Europe, Middle East and Africa . He provided complete service to the Shipping, Oil Gas and Offshore industries. Lastly he executed and managed marine superintending duties marine surveys and investigations.
