He is currently the Senior Professor of Mining , Geology & Petroleum Engineering in the University of Zagreb in Croatia .

During his career life, Dr. Cikes was an Independent Senior Consultant providing consultancy services on hydraulic fracturing & well stimulation , well completion production operations and reservoir engineering to various companies all over Europe and North America . He was also the Senior Production Operations Manager for SINTEZ Corporation where he designed all production operations on various oil fields , including chemical treatments and hydraulic fracturing jobs . He also designed & evaluated testing operations on exploration wells .

Dr. Cikes' earlier career life was spent mostly in the INA National Oil Company (NOC) where he was the Chief Project Operations Manager and designed , supervised & evaluated tremendous hydraulic fracturing operations and designed other production operations , specially thermally inducted fracturing in water injection wells , TIF and oil production through electrical submersible pumps . Prior to that he held positions in INA NOC such as Chief Project Engineer for Hydraulic Fracturing , Chief Project Engineer for Stimulation Operations and Supervisor for Well Cementing , Testing (DST) & Stimulation . It is during these periods where he designed , supervised & evaluated massive hydraulic fracture jobs and various stimulation treatment operations like matrix acidizing , acid fracturing and scale control .

Dr. Cikes has PhD , Masters and Bachelors degrees in Petroleum Engineering . He is a Certified Professional Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and was the Chairman of the SPE Croatia . He has numerous publications circulated internationally .
