Since his graduation of Mechanical Engineering back in 1981 , Mr. Abusafi was evolved in Piping/Pipeline Design , Maintenance , Integrity , Repair and Inspection . He started his career in 1982 as a Field Mechanical Engineer at the Crude Unit of Saudi Aramco (KSA) . After few years he promoted to be the Field Maintenance Supervisor , then the Metal Unit Foreman , then the Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer (FCC Unit) and finally the Lead Area Maintenance Engineer of Jeddah Oil Refinery (KSA). After that, he joined the Steeplejack Energy of Alberta (Canada) as their Project and Turnaround Coordinator . Then he moved to UMA Industrial (Canada) as their Mechanical Projects and Turnaround Manager . After that, Mr. Abusafi worked for VECO Engineering (Canada), Tyco Thermal Controls (Canada), BANTREL (Canada), Flint Energy (Canada), and Husky Energy (Canada) in different engineering and managerial positions before he ends up with SNC-LAVALIN .

Mr. Abusafi is a Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta . He is an Active Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Project Management Institute (PMI)
