He is a much sought after presenter of the highest calibre and has delivered technical safety training to numerous clients worldwide.
Colin has carried out Safety Integrity Level Assessments on behalf of GlaxoSmithKline, Rolls Royce Power Engineering, Smith and Nephew Medical Ltd., PetroPlus, ABB Automation, H E Daniel Ltd and Seal Sands Chemicals. He has specified and executed safety system projects for GlaxoSmithKline, Laporte Industries, Rhone Poulenc Rorer, Rolls Royce Power Engineering, Smith and Nephew Medical Ltd and is presently managing safety systems projects on behalf of ABB Automation / Dupont and GlaxoSmithKline. He is a member of IEEE and sits on the Institute of Measurement and Control Safety Panel
During his career life, Colin gained excellent experience in feasibility studies, requirements engineering, HAZOP and hazardous area classification studies, hazard and risk assessment and management, SIL Assessment and definition of protection philosophies for existing and proposed systems using risk reduction factors, SIS and control system specification, validation and engineering, retrospective validation of control systems, Safety & quality auditing, design of Functional Safety management systems to meet CASS requirements, the application of IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and HAZOP .
